Accommodations

The Hills Abide & Rest is a 1,500 square foot, fully-furnished space, located in the lower level of our home, designed to provide a peaceful place to rest and have fun. Located on the south edge of Rapid City, South Dakota, it is directly on the highway that leads to Mount Rushmore National Monument. You can quickly access hiking paths, parks with playgrounds, and lots of tourist attractions in the area.

Our Home

This is not a hotel, Airbnb or guesthouse. We are opening up the lower level of our private home to you.

  • Comfortably sleeps 7 (and can make room for more)
  • 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
  • Fully equipped kitchen
  • Open dining and living room
  • Gas fireplace
  • In-house washing machine, detergent, and drying rack
  • Wi-fi and SlingTV
  • All bed linens and towels are provided
  • Outdoor cement patio
  • Fully equipped playroom
    • Arts & craft supplies
    • Children’s books, dolls, HotWheels, LEGOs, and puzzles
    • A Wii with lots of games
    • A playpen and toddler bed are available
  • There is no backyard for playing in. The property slopes into a steep canyon not safe for children.
  • However, there are many nearby parks and playgrounds for playing outdoors.

More Details

  • No cost to you; we depend on faithful and generous donors (who pray!) to help defray the cost of your stay.
  • We have a 5-night maximum, except when scheduling a Christian Counseling Intensive **, then there’s a 2-week maximum. 
  • No pets allowed.
  • Transportation is at your own cost.
  • Changing the bedding when you leave would be appreciated but it’s not mandatory. 
  • An intake questionnaire is required and will be sent after you are scheduled.

The Hills Abide & Rest Provides:

  • Bed linens and towels
  • Fully-furnished three-bedroom apartment
  • Washing machine, laundry detergent, and drying rack
  • Breakfast foods
  • Coffee, tea, & basic condiments
  • Baby Gear (Pack ‘n Play and bedding, booster seat, step stool, highchair)

Guests are responsible for

  • Transportation
  • Meals
